Book Review A Dance with Dragons Reviewed by Ali

In his book  A Dance With Dragons, George R.R Martin continues to explore the event of “the mythical land of Westeros.”
A Song Of Ice And Fire is a  famous series of epic fantasy novels by the American novelist George R.R Martin, the series takes place in fictional world reminiscent of medieval Europe. Where, seven kingdoms are at war, and magic has thought to be died out. A Dance With Dragons is the fifth of the seventh planned books of the series, In which The story  is narrated by the points of view of 18 different characters, taking place in nine different location. A Dance With Dragons picks off where the third book leaves off and runs along side with the fourth book. The war of five kings is winding down. In the north, Jon Snow has been elected the 998 Lord Commander Of The Nights watch, and where king Stannis Baratheon has installed himself on the wall vowing to win the support of the northerners, in hopes to claim the iron throne. Tyrion Lannister has been taken by a ship across the narrow see to Pentos, but his eventual goals are unknown even to him. finally on slavers bay, Daenerys Targaryen has concurred the city of Meereen, and has decided to rule it, but little did she know that her presence is known to many in Westeros, Oldtown, Iron Islands, Dorne and the  free cities, emissaries are on their way to find her and use her for their cause.
The theme of this book reflects  the secluded veracity of the medieval world by capturing the nature of our  staggering brutality and abrupt savagery not only in wars or fights, but also in the form of politics, religion and bad blood. In his world, Mr. Martin creates a web like game, where one's decision can affect others players. And  Since his book represent the real world, there is hardly anything that can be predicted. This way Martin sharpens our vision on what to expect in life. There is much to learn form reading a book like this. Lets take Jon Snow for instance, he was a fan favorite character, an honarable man and a good soldier, after he became the 998 lord commadner of the nights watch, he let half the wilding army enter the wall with nothing to feed them nor his people, this caused his soldiers to resent him. As a tyrion lannister once said good men dont always make good kings, but bad men sometimes make good kings.
In the end George R.R Martin has style. He created this vivid picterisque reminicing the real world while still including a hint of magic and fantasy.  And although the book does suffer from bieng crowded with characters , over a 1000 pages, which is to some level a bit too long considering the length of other books  and a bit too detailed in that matter, but they all come in handy in the big picture. Because they end up making the part of what makes this book so real. I like to think of them as little side effects of  great medicine.
